Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave Doppler Wind Lidar for Atmospheric Research (FM-CW-DWL)

The Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave Doppler Wind Lidar will enable detailed and continuous measurements of the vertical wind profile in the lowest 200 m above the surface, closing the gap between existing near-surface measurements (e.g. sonic anemometers) and pulsed Doppler wind lidar measurements which start at around 150 m above ground level. The lidar will be deployed in the city of Innsbruck at the Innsbruck Atmospheric Observatory and as part of the i-Box to investigate orographically-induced flows.

FM-CW-DWL is funded by an Infrastructure Grant from the University of Innsbruck.
